Yesterday was pretty amazing, save for one rather sucky part. I went over to Rebecca's and baked cookies with her. But not just any cookies... MONSTER COOKIES!!!! (That recipe is pretty close to the real one, which I intend to post in dailyrecipe.) They are for the camping trip we are going on next weekend for Matthew's birthday. (There will be a HUGE post after that, just to let you know.) Since there are like 15 people going, we baked approximately 12490723895345 cookies. LOL, we did 4 batches. Actually we cut them into like brownie type things moreso than cookies. It was really an all day process, and we even went out and did stuff between batches.
One of the things we did was go to a rock climbing gym. I didn't participate because a)it costs money and b)I just didn't really want to. Although I did try to climb up this one easy thing, but it didn't work because I did not have proper footwear. Anyway it was a lot of fun. Joe and Rebecca climbed on the roof, and Aaron popped his shoulder 124907235 times. There was this guy at the climbing gym who has a prosthetic leg, and not to single him out but it was really inspiring to see him be actually REALLY good at what he was doing, and just enjoying it in general. I don't know what his story is, but I came up with a new little cliche: Don't let part of your life stop you from enjoying the rest of your life. Maybe someday I'll even live by that, lol. (Oh, and now TO single him out: He was REALLY HOT. Hahaha.)
So after that we had gone to bake more cookies and this time Matthew and Kevin helped us out. Kevin had WAY too much fun. For whatever reason, their batch came out really strange, but I am sure the camping trip guests will not mind because free food is still free food. Then the guys all left and Rebecca decided we were going to ride bicycles w/the dog. Um, me on a bike? This has not happened since like... the 90's. IN SAG HARBOR. So I get on and I freak the hell out because I just could not find a sense of control over the bike and thought I was going to die every 2 seconds. We got to the dead end where we turned around, and I walked my bike a little ways, and then Grr (that's the dog's name) started playing with other dogs. It was so fun. One of the dogs was a little pug puppy and it was SO CUTE OMGOMGOMG. Then we started getting eaten by bugs so we left and I got back on the bike and I FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT GEAR THAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH!!! I ended up beating Rebecca back to her house, lol. Any day where I can have as much fun as I had AND overcome a fear in the same day is definitely a good one :)
After getting the last batch of cookies out, they were like really hard and I could not cut them lol. Meanwhile, about a million teenage boys came over because they had all just had some youth group thing and Mrs. Preston cooked them dinner. They ended up making Ryan come over so he could bring his Wii. Ryan also tried to cut the brownie cookie whatevers and he couldn't do it either, hahahaha. Anyway so I hung out playing video games with a bunch of teenage boys (and Aaron and Ryan) until about midnight and then I went home after the other "old people" had left. Therein lies the "one rather sucky part" of my day yesterday: It ended.
OMG YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO SEE PICTURES
So tonight I am going out to dinner for korshka's birthday! And then I am going up to New Port
Nowhere Richey for some girls night - which after being surrounded by teenage boys, I clearly am in need of some girl time! :D
