Dresses [Jan. 9th, 2010|01:11 pm]
Tray Dawg
I just went to TJMaxx to see if I could find a non-ugly dress to wear to Julie's wedding.

For the longest time I've envisioned myself wearing a purple dress. I don't know why, I just suddenly rediscovered my love for purple. (I even bought an awesome purple sweater at the Gap a few weeks ago. It is AMAZING, y'all. But I digress.) Well, I found a purple dress today. But I also found a teal blue dress, and I was going to use this post to ask you guys which dress I should wear but when I uploaded the pictures they kind of answered the question for me.

Aside from the fact that the blue dress clearly looks better, I actually look happier in it and I think that really helps. I am a bit nervous because it's a bit more... showy than I'm used to wearing, but I'll have a necklace so hopefully that will draw the eyes upward, lol. Also can I just point out that the dress is the exact same color as some of the stones in the necklace? Epic win.

But, I really like the purple dress. Even though I'm not wearing it today, there's SO MUCH I can do with it to dress it up or down, so I'm going to keep it.

The wedding is at 4, for those of you who are like "STOP POSTING YOU ARE GOING TO A WEDDING GOSH" =P

The blue dress looks really, really good on you! The color is great and even though you might think it's more showy, I think it's really flattering. I know it sounds contradictory, but deep v-necks can actually make larger boobs look more balanced. I read all the time in fashion magazine make-overs...but the truth is, I know from my own ample rack, yo. Plus, the shape of the blue dress is very grown-up looking. I know that might seem silly to say, but I personally know there are outfits that make me look thirteen and other outfits that make me look like the 27 year old I am. Maybe this dress will make you feel more grown-up, too. Just a thought.

Wow, I just wrote you a novel...in any case, have a rockin' time at the wedding! Stun them all!

I like the blue dress!! It's not very showy but I'm the same way as you, I'd probably feel weird wearing it, too. A necklace will help big time but from an objective standpoint, the dress isn't WHOA BOOBS at all.

Nice stuff!!

The necklace is definitely helping. (It wasn't as EXACT color-wise as I thought but it has enough other colors that it all balances out.)

Thanks... I would definitely wear a wrap or something w/it because holy arms, batman... but I could also wear it over pants or something (*shudder* might I have to buy leggings now?) and it goes w/more colors whereas the blue dress I kind of had to have a set plan, which fortunately I did!

Also half the reason I look so pissed in that picture is because it was like the 5th try to get a good angle, haha.
